Best way to install new rod bolts???

I put ARP's in mine, I didnt have any collars or anything. i pulled them out one at a time, and put a ARP in its placed. I think I had to torque mine down to something like 25, then back off, repeat, then back off, then tighten them down. I dont remember the torque specs though. I never removed my caps or anything, and the bolts on the LSx motors dont have to be knocked out, they are bolts, not studs like the SB chevys have

that is the same way i did mine,and i did mine 10 different times no problem

Man this freakin rod bolt thing sucks . But I had an excuse to go buy myself a really nice TQ wrench.

The 03 6.0 I'm building definitely had collars and I had to knock out the rod bolts/collars from the caps. The collars stayed on the rod bolts. They would not come out any other way.

I did not have any collars either. I did the ARP's on my 5.3 one bolt at a time using a 3x30ft/lb torque procedure.

so is there a certain year they started using these rod bolt collars? I have a 2004 6.0.
