Just need to know what would benefit more? I haven't quite got the money for both yet, so I was wondering which would benefit more on the street first.

It would depend on what wheels and tires you will putting the caltracs. If you are putting them on your stock 235's or 255's, just go with slicks.

I plan on buying a 16x9 or 16x10. Something similar to this.

16x10 are going to stick out , The caliper bolt in the rear causes it to come close to a 16" rim with more than a 5.5 back space. I know you don't care for racing but 10" is overkill if you ask me.

I ran my et streets 28x11.50 on 16x8 rims with out a problem, Mickey tompson even recommended 8" rims, The rule they stated was you want the width of the rim to be + or - 1" the tread width, The tread width on the 11.50 being around 8-8.5,

I would look into "wheel deals" on Centerline website, My 16x8 weighed around 21lbs,

I would race with the tires and if you need more weight transfer or you get any wheel hop than buy the Caltracs.

Go with the wheels and tires. If you are running low tire pressures wheelhop is not as much a factor. You can also remove the front swaybar at the track to help with weight transfer.

Thanks for the advice guys. Looks like I'll be getting some 16x8s. I'll post some pics of some of my choices when I do a little bit of searching. Thanks again.

could you just use the stock wheels with slicks or a similar tire such as that?

i guess that is a matter of how much power you plan on making. slicks will certainly help, but, ask greysilver what happens if you put too much power to the ground while hooking up without some sort of suspension traction aid. he blew the gears and tranny in one shot. here's the deal. the springs will wrap up to a point then snap back. are you following me yet? if you want to save a buck, get a set of lakewood traction bars instead. they are much easier to install too.
