Better performance
Hey guys, new here. Just picked up a 2003 Silverado 5.3L and I was curious what kind of upgrades I could do to get more HP and TQ. Only thing I've done so far is change the gears to 3.73's (mostly due to the bigger tires - 33's) and an Air raid intake tube and high flow filter. I plan on getting LT headers and a cam soon. Just wasn't sure if there was anything else that would be recommended. And what kind of headers and exhaust would you recommend. Thanks in advance.

Headers, cam and a tune should get you 50-80hp easy. You're going to want larger injectors too, stock 25lb/hr will be maxed on a cam/headers setup. Upgrade to 8.1L 31lb/hr injectors.
Add a stall converter depending on cam size then pray the 4L60e holds together.
Speed Engineering headers are great, then you have kooks or ARH if you want you want to spend some coin.

I wasn't planning on going crazy with the cam. This is the one I had my eyes on
Voodoo Hydraulic Roller Cam - GM LS GEN III/IV 262/268 - Lunati Power

That exhaust is going to be stupid loud and get old faster than you think you'll enjoy it.
Listen to FFDP, get a resonator to tone it down.
Speed Engineering has some great stuff and quite the variety to at an even better price. Check them out, they have a very nice true dual set up to.
Stall is a great idea to. Definitely increase the fun factor
