Default Which is better Water Injection vs. Nitrous???????

I the never ending story or trying to provide a cooler charge to a whipple 5.3 what is everyone's opinion of water injection versus a small 50-75 shot of nitrous. I live in Florida and it is getting hot. What would be most effective in 100 degree temps? Any info would help, thanks guys!

You set up alcohol/water injection to mist into the intake when a certain boost pressure is made. You set when it comes on whether it comes on at 4lbs. or 8lbs. It ruduces the risk of detonation at high boost levels while being able to run the same octane rating fuel you used before the alcohol/water injection was installed.

you probably know this but i am runing nitrous, i went thru the same decesion. i found alot of people talking about the huge benifits of water/alcohol injection but most of them have never tried it. of the people that have tried it there were some that swore by it and quite a few that never got it figured out and gave up on it.

now for the nitrous, there is no figuring it out, bolt it on and you get GREAT results. it wont help at all for daily driving but for racing it is hard to beat. my last times at the track were 12.77 9psi, 12.05 9psi and a 50shot, 11.92 9psi and a 75shot. 7/10ths with a 50shot in a big heavy truck is prety good in my book, the bottle lasts alot of runs too only running a 50 or 75shot.

if you do decide to try the water/alcohol injection i would love to hear how it works out.

kind of , on a kind of warm day, 85deg max, the most i can run is 6psi with 92 octane, any warmer than that and i see a little KR, prety much no audiable pinging, the computer takes care of it, i might hear one little ping. cooler than 85 and i see 0kr and 14deg of timing.

in order to run 9psi i have been using a 30%mix of xylene(about 100octane), warmest day so far has been about 75deg and at that temp i see 0deg of KR and still at 14deg of timing. with a 8psi pully and 92 octane gas on a cool day(60deg or cooler) i saw imeadiate continuas 8deg of KR and audiable pinging. the xylene works. it cost about $4/gallon. i have been using it alot, probably ran 60+gallons thru my truck in the last few months.

i have been told that it wont hurt anything but i have had 2 bad 02 sensors recently, could be the xylene, could be the nitrous, could be that i ran rediculasly rich for a long time before i got the wideband.
