If anything it should have been a rich code, ya think? No fire=extra fuel=rich.
Yeah I mistook what you said as a low coolant light or check coolant level light. Anyway, glad to have ya back and running.

Maybe the 02 was sniffing all that fuel, and the computer leaned that bank out?

Yeah, I would think it'd throw a rich code.

Those fans still run after you turn the motor off right?
If not, it couldn't hurt to wire them so they do.
I'm glad it was a minor problem.
How's she running now?

I was thinking that too, but maybe since the fuel wasn't broken down into it's byproducts that it wouldn't read it. Maybe it was lean because it wasn't getting the normal amount of combustion gases (8 Cylinders)? That sounds good!

Yep, the run after the motor is off. heck, I'll turn the truck off and hear them spin up every few minutes till the coolant cools down. It's a great way to keep the cats and children away.

At the beach, they were running at the for a long time. I wasn't sure I was going to have anything left in the battery.

Everything appears to be in good shape , I guess she's firing on all 8 cylinders.

So, anybody have a single plug wire with low miles?

The reason it shows up as a lean code is because 02 sensors do exactly that...sense oxygen. When you have a misfire, oxygen content increases due to incomplete combustion.

ugh, you will have less oxygen with a incomplete burn

When a cylinder ingests air, then doesn't light the fuel, then pumps that air straight into the exhaust, wouldn't that show up as higher oxygen?

That is correct. More oxygen. Trust me.

hmm, im gonna have to ask/do an experiment on this one. im going to unplug a spark plug wire and read the difference in a/f ratio
