Default Biggest baddest 4.8

Alright guys here it is. I want to stay with my 4.8 block!!!! I want to know from everyone how to make her mean as hell. Again 4.8 block no holds barred. Nitrous, heads, cam, intake, s/c, bored block, etc. everything and give a projected hp output. Just wanting to see what you guys think you can get out of her, fixing to get another block and go to work. Wanting to make sure I don't miss anything in the build.
Thanks
Josh

4.8 bore and stroke is 3.780" x 3.270"....even at an .030" overbore (3.810") and a 4.00" stroke (and I'm not even sure you can go with that long of a stroke on a 4.8) you'd only get to 364cid.....that's the STOCK displacement of a 6.0, Even adding a set of Stage II heads and a TR224 cam would only get you into the 360hp range

Starting with a 4.8 is just not the way to buld killer horsepower.....IMHO swap it out for a 6.0 and go from there

No thread hijacking......

but to answer the question....It'll last a pretty long time at stock power levels but as soon as you start modding the 6.0 it'll blow up fast

littlered4.8.....the 5 speed will help you to plant the power from whatever engine combo you choose a little better, but the stock clutch SUCKS !!!

according to Blown Chevy, the 4.8 is a 4l60 killer. imagine what a 6.0L would do to it!

scream, that was for you.

The options are unlimited. Its really personal preference and how you use your truck.

Oh yeah I know all about the clutch I've had to quit racing because of the probs with it. I'll be rebuilding in not to near future. The 4.8 and 5.3 blocks are the same and just out of s/c guys are getting 350rwh. Want something I can drive still but when I want to turn it loose it'll be there. At that point it won't be an every day driver. Just wanted to see what kind of combo's everyone else could think of. Yelo with 360hp you could s/c and nos from there that would be plenty hp. Have you heard of any upgrades for the 5spds??

You mean rear wheel horsepower right? If not then Or do you mean 360 hp at the crank on a 4.8?
