about the quickest you can get it without being blown, or nitrous, is gonna be high 13's. add nitrous, or a blower. and your in the twelves, add both and see better than that.

Now as for a 60E If that is your plan. I wouldnt even consider the 60.
go ahead and get you an 80E and be done with it.

trust me after 10 transmissions. they wont hold up to much over stock.

IMO if you got a 4.8L block. I would sell it, and get a 6.0L and start from there. that would net you more HP, than you could get out of the shorter stroke, 4.8L

Gonna try to keep a stick. Either built 5 or 6spd possibly.

You out to find you a wrecked F-Body, and swap out the whole LS1/T56 into yours.

That was a second thought if the 4.8 couldn't make the pwr I want. Somewhere around 450 is what I would like.

You could get 450hp out of a 4.8L. Assuming you're talking fwhp...I don't know about rwhp? If you do heads cam and some type of forced induction, it's definatly possible. You're still well under the 100hp per liter mark.

I bet you could make it 383cid.
Stock 4.8L=3.878" bore 3.120" stroke

.030" over and 4.00" stroke makes 383.8 cid!

even a 3.75" stroke makes 360cid. But it's not a 4.8L anymore....not at all!

The little 4.8/5.3 bore is what is going to limit you. Sure you could stroke it, but I bet a 360ci made from a 4.8L will make less power and torque than a similar sized 6.0L(364ci). JMO.

Thats cool I had no probs with boring it out, and s/c. That is kinda what I had in mind. Ya know its still the 4.8 block. That's a stroker kit kinda right? Like the ones from lunati etc., I could put out that pwr? I'm not looking to be the fastest or put out 600+hp. I don't have the mechanical ability for all that. Just something really fun.
