i have to dissagree with you option for tune. the diablo is a waste i saw 0 hp and it gave me 20 tq...the best one IMO would have to be hyperpac. i saw a gain in both tq and hp. i dont have the numbers here but i can asure you it was better than the diablo and does alot more than the diablo can..

From what I have seen from dyno runs, headers don't cost out very well. I saw a gain of about 8 to 10 hp for around $500 to $800 or more. Doesn't seem like a good trade off. I think a good tune and cam swap would be a better deal.
It would be interesting to see some dyno runs of a stock truck and then add exhaust mods and run again. Then air intake and run again, and then a tune, and see what happens. I have a feeling the the exhaust is more for cool sound factor than pure performance. I can't say that my true duals with an H pipe did a lot for my 8.1
