Default boreing a 5.3 to a 5.7

so im bout to get a 5.3 block for dirt cheap, and was wondering about how much it would cost to get it bored out to a 5.7, its an iron block so it should be fine, and also any input on this subject would be great, and if anybody has one in there fullsize how do you like it, thanks guys

Search the internal mods section. There have been several threads started on this topic. If I am not mistaken more than one talked of problems with the block when it was sonic tested. From what I have read it is just a toss up though as to if the block will be ok or not.

You don't need different intake, headers, cam or heads. But since they are off you might as well get some work done to the heads, get a different cam and intake!

well its all going into a gen IV truck, NNBS intake seems to flow pretty good- and my 243's are ported all the way , and a 228R cam will do . .

dont' have number off top of the head between 5.3 / 5.7 but its more CI - it should easily peak over 400hp +
