Default Brake Vacuum

Any ideas on how to easily keep vacuum on the brake system. On a couple occasions I've been under boost and had to let off and grab brake quickly and not had any.

There are some aftermarket systems for that issue bit they are not really cheap. I have had similar issue, nothing sevre, but lack of pedal feel for sure.
May just be the crappy stockers on mine??
Look on Summit for an idea.
Pmed you.

Back when I first signed up on LS1Tech, that was one of the first questions I had. Being the aggressive driver I am (Hey I am a curtious aggressive driver!!!LOL) I often found myself looking for brakes and not having any. ESPECIALLY at a stop sign on a funky road, and have to change my mind as I start to nail it.

My fix wasn't cheap, but on the other hand I haven't suffered a problem with not having brakes since.

http://www.hydratechbraking.com/ (custom hydroboost)

not sure if this will work or not...
happen to just be looking at them last night in a Jeg's catalog...

The JEG'S vacuum canister gives you an extra shot of vacuum that the new cam won't allow you to have in order to feed your power brakes. Durable 5" x 7" canister will not flex under load and includes mounting bracket, one way check valve, grommet, 90º fitting and port plug. Available in a black wrinkle finish steel or an extruded billet aluminum canister. The aluminum canister features billet end caps, for a sanitary appearance, and a clear anodize or polished finish with a matching check valve cover. Also includes the "Just-Able" integral mounting system, exclusively from JEG'S, for easy attachment with stainless hardware. Liquid filled pressure gauges available separately. Check valves (sold separately) are an ideal dress up item for power brake boosters.

Convert over to hydro boost. The HD's come with them stock and i have never had a brake problem. A little more expensive but you get way better stopping power.

Damn, isn't anything easy. Okay rant off. Should I just be able to find a hydroboost equipped 04+ truck in a yard somewhere and swap it over? Probably not to bad so long as it doesn't screw with ABS or electronics somewhere.

The ABS motor is after the booster and should still work. I have converted a few things over to hydroboost. If you can do a little fab work you could pull one off a diesel truck from the junkyard and make it work, but from my experience you get what you pay for. I have never had any luck with ones out of junkyards. Oh yea mine is an 03', well any way it is worth it in the long run expecially if tow.

2500HD+ 6.0L's have the hydroboost also. That would probably be a better candidate to get parts from.

Dewmanshu - So you have that setup you linked to? Did it increase the braking of the stock setup or just take care of the low vacuum issue you had? I want to take a look at yours on Sunday.

You may also wanna try a Yukon or Tahoe, 04+ ( I believe) they are hydro boost, I've done a great deal of reseach on this and have all the P/Ns needed for the swap if you'd like them?
