This thread is funny to me. I gotta find my original posted thread on this. Everybody thought I was nuts when I posed this question 2 years ago! LOL

Every vacuum canister i have tried doesnt work. I have 67 camaro with a big block and a monster cam, vacuum booster again sucked so i converted it hydro boost for about $250. Best thing ever is to convert to hydroboost. It is better to spend the money once then wasting it on other stuff that doesnt work, just my .02 worth.

Just a note. You have to have a cam small enough that will actually build 10-12" of vacume at some point (other than deceleration)or a canister is a waste of time.
The easy fix is manual brakes.

My cam builds great vacuum. Plenty to power the brakes. Something like 15" at idle. Problem I have is immediate transition from boost to brakes. Pedal goes to the floor and I feel a pulsation in the pedal. Normal driving brakes are okay. (Never have liked the brake feel on the truck, mushy.) I'll at least upgrade to Hawk pads and braided lines short term for feel. Long term larger rotors and bigger calipers.

A buddy at work has a 2500HD with the 6.0. Went out and looked under the hood and it had the hydroboost system. Looks like a real easy swap over from one of these trucks, assuming everything bolts up like it should. Probably a cheaper option I am going to persue vs the new from the Dewmanshu site. Find a salvage yard truck for the parts.

Ky, I have all the part numbers from a 06 Tahoe (getting ready to do the swap for towing reasons here) if you want them, these include the hoses, master cyl and other needed parts.

Let me know.

it's the brake booster, not the master cylinder, but anyway mine has one too, I thought all 2003+ trucks had this???

Please, would come in handy if I can't find them all at a salvage yard. Hear there were re-calls on some of the hoses also. I'll even price new at the dealer.
