Default Break in time.

What do you guys think about this, just picked up my engine yesterday,is there anything I should do before I hit the key the first time?

My break in I think will be like this, soon as it fires off and runs, bring it up to between 1500 and 1700 rpm for 15 mins, check over for leeks, connections, engine lights,if it passes that, then I was gonna drive it around a local subdivision for about a half hour, stop and go,off load,on load,CHANGE OIL,I wont go WOT till after I get 1,000 miles and another oil change on it,after that go for it.

The plan is, once I have both engines out, I'm gonna swap over all the sensors, starter, front drives and put it back in.

joe gibbs break in oil. start it, check for leaks, top off fluids and go WOT in gear ASAP to seat the rings. 300 miles on break in oil then change to the oil of your choice.

Exactly. Quicker you run it hard the faster it will be. "Going easy on it for the first 1000 miles" is about the worst thing a person could do to a new engine.

its best to get it started out right.. run it hard if the tune is good and AFR is good. Sooner you seat the rings the better.

My last 2 builds I fired it up let it idle till I got all the air outta the new injection pump and lines. Then played with the rpms a bit then went for a drive. I think I waited till 500 km before I went WOT. Also changed oil at after the first half hour I ran it. But that was for a diesel not sure if gas is the same
