Broken Intake bolt

yeah intake manifold bolt. I was trying to figure out why my AFR increased a whole point from one day to the other and figured my intake may be loose. I started tightening and broke the last bolt on the drivers side. I assume I can still use the truck as long as I take it easy and make sure AFR is below 16 at cruise.

You could use an eazy-out. You drill a small hole in the bolt then the eazy-out is reverse threaded, as you turn the boltcounter-clockwise it threads down into it until it bites and comes out. It should work on the intake bolts because they are aluminum so they shouldn't be that tight.

The bolt will probably be pretty loose in there once the tension is off of it. When it happened to me I was going to drill the bolt to use an extractor. But I noticed that the bolt was moving around a bit. So I was able to gradually spin it out just by catching a screwdriver against the ridge at the break. I would just remove the intake and try this.

Bolt is off after 4 hours, 4 drill bits, and 2 extractors. I was a PITA because the drill barely fit between the head and firewall. When I saw the bolt finally lift it was like getting flashed by a hot chick. I was very happy. I removed about an inch of broken bolt and even had to beat my drill when it came out because it jammed it to the firewall. Felt
