Budget 6.0 Build
I'm picking up a 01+ LQ4 to swap into my 88 Monte SS. Its a weeked warrior that will see the 1/4. Car weighs 3450lbs.
Trans is a built 2004r, 3200 stall (may step it up a little), 4.10 gears, and Hoosier slicks. I'll be running an Edelbrock Victor Jr intake, Holley double pumper, MSD 6010 controller, and 1 3/4" longtubes.
Motor will remain stock besides a set of ARP rod bolts and cam/pushrods/springs.
Few questions. Whats the max lift the stock long block safely handle?
Also, I'm searching for a cam and there seems to be hundreds out there. I've been looking at Thunderracing especially since they have a kit with springs/pushrods/valve seals/cam.
I'm wondering how the 230/236 112 .592/.602 would perform with stock heads? Or possibly an F13?
What kind of rwhp numbers could I expect? I'm looking to run as fast as I can while keeping the motor in one piece. I'll upgrade the heads possibly next winter but for now, its gonna be a stock longblock with a cam.
Thanks guys
Nick
