There are probably more combinations of 5.3's with superchargers than anything else, and they work well. Before I built my current engine I had a 5.3 with a Vinci Ultra-torque cam, a Maggie 1900 and a 3" exhaust with Magnaflow muffler. It ran a 13.1 at 109 at 3600 feet elevation. That was with a stock 60e. The transmission lasted exactly one year.

You dont want to regear?????? This is just stupid! You have a heavy 4wd truck with a tiny engine that doesnt make nearly enough power. You are pissing in the wind if you dont regear. Stock gearing is from 3.08-3.73 on half ton trucks and just wont do the job. You need a minimum of 4.10 to be able to do anything with a 5.3........and then you dont have a 6l80E.......Just take the advice and go with it. Understand that we are trying to help you out b/c most of us on here have been in your shoes at some point.

What's the price tag on throwing some 4:10s in my truck then. I have 3.73s now. I realize that will be a big gain in bottom end. How much exactly?

What size tire are you going to run?

You are looking at around 1k for parts and labor per axle.

I'm gonna go to a local driveline shop here and get 4.56s. My tires are 32x12x20. And my rims are pretty heavy. Not too worried about mileage
