be careful with removing all the torque managment it can kill your tranny just a warning <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

torque managment is on all 99 and up trucks it takes timing out during shifts to soften the shifts and save the tranny by doing this you can say goodbye on a stock tranny but if you remove it you will have on hell of a ride for awhile

I just got LS1 edit and I have spent some time this morning editing my file. I took out the tq mgt, changed the speed limiter, raised the idle, and told it I now have a 6 liter. Can't wait to get home so I can flash it and see if there is a noticeable difference.

Just a Q? Did youput a 6.0 liter in it? I was just wondering what telling it you have the 6.0 does? I have messed with Edit a little. Lots of experince on changing spark tables. The hard way, the easy way, all kinds of ways, hehe

so with edit you can tell it what engine you have? when it reads your vin it will say 4.8/5.3 whatever you have, and then you can change it if you want? what about custom cubic inch jobs, 375/383/396/409/422 etc.? shoot me some info about that, i will get edit soon but don't know that much about it yet.

Yes, I have a 6 liter in the truck. Not sure but I think by changing it the PCM is supposed to be able to calculate the fuel easier/better. In the engine section under fuel there is a place for individual cylinder displacement. The stock entry for the 5.3 multiplied by 8 equals 327-I thought that was weird. I just divided 364 by 8 and entered that. My air fuel has always been right on so I expect the change to either do nothing or mess up a good combination. I will flash it and drive it a little this afternoon.

Well I zeroed out the three tq mgt tables that I have been reading about. I still am getting timing retard at launch. I only had time to drive it like 5 miles but I couldn't feel any seat of the pants improvement. Back to the drawing board, I guess.

I may be wrong,but i have heard that you dont want to completly zero out T/M on the trucks.It's fine to do this on the cars for some reason,but not trucks.On a N/A engine i've heard approx 80-85% reduction and on a F/I engine approx 50% reduction.Seems that there are driveablilty issues on the 2002 models if you totaly remove it.
Try a 50% reduction and see what it feels like.When i installed the tuning from my Predator the tuck felt totally different/better...very noticable.

I completely took tqm out of mine a few months ago. I just got my truck back yesterday with a brand new serta unit in it. When I first removed it I kept the increased line pressure the HPP3 puts in and it had a hard time shifting 1-2 so I had to bump it up some more, decrease shift time and install a vette servo. That worked for a while till my 2nd gear was gone. I dont think I will be totally removing it from the new one. Just FYI. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
