I just installed pacesetter LTs, had my stock cats welded into the ORY then I have a cutout after the y pipe and my muffler after that. I dont have to smog till 09 so I'm sure I will have a different setup by then. I wanted the shop to just put in the ORY but he refused to not put the cats in.

I just bit the bullet and went long tubes, Magnaflow cats and cutom true dual with X-pipe all the way back into 2 12" Borla XR-1 open mufflers. If you click on my sig pic it will take you to my CD page and there are pics of the setup, you're welcome to come by sometime and take a look if you like too.
Where are you? There is a big party at Synergy Motorsports in Newark, most of us local guys are going to be there. Check the Western section.

Hey guys i had a few questions about exhaust and CA SMOG, that i couldnt find in the search, so if i missed them just post the link
ive got a 2000 5.3 as it sits, the manifolds go to two cats, then Y to the muffler...
Now what CAN i do?
i want headers, but i heard LT's wont smog, so i cant do that?
can i re locate the cats? could i have one? what will smog? im not sure how many o2's it has but im pretty sure its two after the cats... do i just need to keep those 2 ahead of two cats? 1 cat? im not sure.. can i fake the 02's? basically im just really confused on what will or can pass and what wont.
I want to put a cut out in (1) so ideally i would like a Y to the cut out, then a cat (or two if i need it) then the muffler, (im hiding the tip, so having just 1 doesnt bother me)
basically cut out closed i want smog legal, with muffler, and open just open manifolds (or headers if its going to be legal, shorties dont even do anything do they?)
obviously you can tell how lost i am so all help is greatly appriciated... thanks

Honestly, I do not know. I remembered reading about these on another forum and searched it for you then posted it here. But so far they seem to be the best as CA emissions goes.
I have Thorley headers on my OBS Vortec and think the quality is great.
