I built my own tube for my 11' and am very pleased with it. After spending hundreds on each of my previous trucks for aftermarket CAI systems I don't know why I didn't build my own the first time around.

Where in AK are you located at? If you are near Wasilla I would be happy to help ya out and get ya setup.

oiled filters are fine. I have run them over 100k same stock MAF never and issue. Must be carefull not to over oil. I agree that the DIY is pretty cool for cheap. Spectre is pretty close second for a bolt on.

Where's the best place to look for just the tube? 2007 2500 HD, looking to remove the stock tube and replace with something that doesn't have all the silencers and restrictions. It's a farm truck and lives on gravel roads so not sure yet about cutting out air box yet or not. But no sense in spending $300+ for a full cai on a farm truck.

Homedepot

4" PVC pipe and a few rubber couplings. Or if you want to get a little fancier you can get some nice rubber couplings from the web. Do a search for home made air intake or pvc air intake and there are some threads on it. I have a few pics of the one I built in my build thread also... just don't judge cause I still need to pain the pipe, just been lazy.

Send me a PM if you're interested in a free K&N drop-in filter for your stock air box.

Oh, and welcome to the forum, from a fellow Alaskan.
