Default CAI vs Stock w/ drop in K&N

Ok Guys I am thinking of pulling my 77 series K&N and putting the stock airbox and tube back on. The 77 does not seal the heat out from the engine what so ever, throttle response is slower, intake noise increased (not a bad thing).

Would I see a significant decrease in power if I put stock back on?
Mods include:
Wheatley Tune
LT/ORY
212/218 low lift

Or do I keep the 77, insulate the metal tube and build a better airbox?

Let me know what ya'll think.

I doubt that you'll notice much difference besides less noise...I didn't notice diddly when I installed a K&N FIPK, and it felt the same again when I ditched the K&N for my current Volant with ram air tube. Just a noise maker really lol.

Wow I looked at the chart...stock with K&N filter vs AEM...very close. I think mine is a 77 series but they should be really close.

Sorry had to edit it, so as not to step on anyone's toes. But still welcome your knowledge.

I run a stock airbox with a K&N drop-in filter. Doesn't seem to hold me back at all.

Ditto - doesn't seem to hurt a bit. I did open up the bottom, but other than that I just appreciate having less intake noise at part throttle. I originally had a K&N FIPK and had to ditch that bitch.

How I miss Alaska. I was stationed up there for three years. Wish I could go back. Miss the fishing, snow boarding, sleding down Arctic Valley road on Fort Rich.
