What are your goals for the truck? You said you wanted it to sound nasty? Installing gears won't do that....

And no matter what you do to it, unless you install a turbo (which it still won't be all that fast for the money you put into it) you're wasting your time with the V6.

Well I'm gonna start some body work on it during the summer, and yes I understand it's not gonna be a fast truck, It's gonna be an all bark but no bite pretty much. Gears Headers, cam, short shift kit electric fans and maybe the spray, still thinking about that one. But I just want something that is differant from everyone else, and I don't have the experience under my belt to do a V8 swap and my dad said this is what i will help you with so I'm kinda stuck with that. I was considering a turbo but it would just trash that 4L60E tranny in the matter of seconds. And Yea I know its just throwing money down the tube, but it's just something to do till I get out of school. Look good, sound, good, and just to be able to have fun with this V6 really.

It's not going to have bark or bite dude. It won't sound good, at all.

And a turbo V6 wouldn't trash a 60e unless you put more money into than the truck is worth IMO.

My advice to you, take that money you plan on spending on the V6 and put it into a savings account. Then take all the extra time you have and research motor swaps or start looking for a car/truck with a V8 already in it.

Yea I have a lot of different options to choose from. Here is the thing though, I could do a 5.3 swap and be the same like a lot of people around here. The thing is everything I have done to my truck I have done because no one else has it done. Hence the reason I'm still holding on to the V6 for the reason that I am one of few that will have an ok running truck. And I was "Ok" loosly too.

You can run a V8 and still be "different".

I wouldnt waste money on putting a cam in a v6 when its in a fullsize. If I had another vehicle to drive or garage to park my truck in to do a motor swap, I wouldnt have done it in a s10.

Corey, About a 1 1/2 months ago I found the problem was the distributor, it was taking out rotors. Replaced it and it runs without any issues.

+1000! I know Scott sounds like he's a broken record, but he's right. Stop this madness with your V6 full-size.

My advice: Use the V6 as your daily driver, and find an older full-size with a V8 to fix up. FINISH SCHOOL, FIRST! You can have SOOOOOOOO much more fun if you stop wasting money in college on frivolous endeavors (such as a hot-rod full-size V6) and save it for later.

Crap, I drove a 10-year old Ford Taurus with 160,000 miles in college, so I could buy whatever I wanted when I graduated.
