Default Cam for 4.8 or 5.3...

What is the biggest cam you can run on either one? I am looking for a choppy idle...I will most likely be running stock manifolds and cats, but it will have a catback exhaust (not sure which one yet)...I know the CheaTR won't have the choppy idle, but will it make good power? I plan to run the comp 921 springs...Any info would be great...Thanks

For a pretty choppy Idle I run the tr220 on a 112 LSA. It's not a huge cam but it's definantly not small. It will make great power up until 6500 rpms as well.

I'm running a tr224 on a 112 and the exhaust sounds mean as hell even with stock manifolds.

i'll put a big +1 to the TR224 @ 112... ive got it, i love it, and it seems to love my new radix as well... definately turns the heads at stop-lights and in parking lots...

It is a type of supercharger made by Magnuson.

Yes the install is easy. It is super easy once you've done one. It isn't very time consuming either unless something goes wrong like an oil pump failing

I'm running Manley Valve springs. My valve train is super quiet. The springs are rated to .600 of lift.
918 springs are the most common choice. If you run a cam with less than .560 of lift(to be on the safe side), you can run ls6 springs. The newer style ls6 springs are rated to .570 of lift.

Any more questions?

i was looking to get this package http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=175&catid=44 and a ported LS6 oil pump...will that pump work on these trucks? Also, which cam on that list would be best, the 224xe, 224r, or 228r? Which cam on that list would you recommend? I know cam installs on LS1's can be a PITA sometimes, is it anything like that?
