No, it wouldn't be a waste. It will be a little sluggish until probably about 1600rpm's but no more than your stock cam.

i had a 216/220 in my truck LOVED IT...wish I still had it

i was gonna say the stock same is a bit sluggish till then but like u said... if its not nemore than stock yer okay.. and once u get a stall ull be fine..

yea i think its prob the best choice came wise..

does anyone know the LSA of that cam.. also whats the difference in the same cam but different lsa..


and does anyone have the full stock specs of the stock 5.3 cam?

comp 212 218 is good with a stock converter

i think were gonna go 216/220 and change converters later on.. whats the lsa thing tho..like a stock is 114 lsa

i know its serpation angle but i mean like whats the lsa of these cams were lookin at and what do they needa be,114 LSA like stock or 115 ,116?

114lsa is what most people run, but with a 112lsa you'll be able to hear the lope a little more...
