Cam?
how practical is it for me to put a cam in my 6.0L? i tow a boat just about every weekend in the summer. If i do put a cam in, what else do i need to do, i cant just put a cam in right. I know that the truck will have to be tuned once the cam is in but will a cam alone be ok?

Most camshafts will max out the stock springs, so those are a must-have but no worries. If you pick out a towing cam, chances are it wont max out stock LS6 springs which are only $53 bucks for the entire set of 16. A nice upgrade with very strong torque, improved mid and extended redline would be something like a 212 or 218 duration camshaft. Either one of those with low lift and a 112-114 lobe separation angle will actually get better gas mileage than your current setup, provided the tune is done after the swap. If you're trying to stay low buck, perhaps the 2001 LS6 camshaft?
