You can do one without the other, but i wouldnt recommend it. What are the specs on your "custom" rear end and tranny? If you want that sound a 112- 224/224 general thunder racing cam will do the trick. But again if you are watching these YOUTUBE videos it alot of our trucks on the forum here. As we keep saying you cant really just do a cam without pushrods, stall converter, springs. ETC.

5.3 on a 4l80?? Hope its on 4.56s.. yes low lsa will make it chop and duration is a big factor. R u going to want a converter if not just get a baby cam..u need to know what exactly u want..

the transmission came in a package type deal, not real sure the exact specs, but something to do with new plates, new clutch pac, 13 vain rotor, the shell was replaced with a beast sun shell, and valve body got a new trans-go shift kit

r u going to want a converter? if so how big.. this is a big factor to what size cam u can get.

If he just wants a good sound I say go with a the 212/218 low lift cam with some yellow springs and hardened pushrods and get a reworked tb stall. If he shops right he can probably do all that in the $1000 range. If I'm not mistaken I think someone is selling a 212/218 cam in the classifieds section

well this is my daily driver so i really dont want to go to big on the stall, dont really want to have to rev up everytime i leave a redlight, lol

can you do a small lift with like a 112 lsa and it still sound good, if so what brand? this is to hectic

I use my truck as a DD in the summer and im running a big cam with a 4200 stall.
Its all up to what you consider a none daily driver too.

The trailblazer stall isn't even big, you can hardly tell it's in there.

Ever consider the hot cam? There's not enough gain from it to brag about but it sounds wicked and they're pretty cheap and you can still run yellow springs with it
