Will this cam pass CA smog on a 5.3 or a 6.0 engine. I will be getting LT and a tune but not for a while, so will this cam run ok on stock tune and manifolds. Yes I know if its going to have to be tuned to pass smog, but with a tune will it pass?

Yeah, it should be ok. It has the same overlap as the TR224, which on an LS1 will pass smog. I would stick it in a 6.0L to be safe, I amnot sure if it will be close to passing or not on a 5.3L. With the 5.3L, you will need a great tune to get it by smog.
It will feel almost stock until you are in the upper rpms, this is before the tune. After, you should feel an icnrease throughout the powerband.

Not from what I have heard. Speculation has it that 114 is as tight a LSA you can have to pass smog. Not only that but the lope of a 110 will definately give you away AND long tube headers will never pass smog in CA.
And I sincerely doubt you can run it on a stock tune either but I could be wrong?

For what it's worth, I have a Comp 212/218 558/563 115lsa. I haven't had to smog it yet but I was told by a few people that it would pass CA smog with a tune, no problem, but that is the biggest they would recommend. I talked to Synergy Motorsports in the Sacramento area this week and they told me the same thing.

After endless research the consensus was 220/220 on a 115 LSA was about max that would pass California visual/auditory/sniffer. This was in an LQ9 (364ci) and with tuning. Reduce the duration by a bit to pass in a LM7 (325ci) motor. The more you decrease LSA the more you risk the chance of the shop noticing the cam loping.
