Default cam choice for 5 speed...

ok guys Ive tried searching for some info on this but havnt had much luck seeing 80% of the trucks on here are autos...

my truck is a DD but I def. want it to have a noticable lope to it...from my understand the more lope you have, the lazier your lower end is, right???...

also what else do I need...push rods, springs, cam, water pump gasket, timing chain(160,000k on her) oil pump???...I just want to have anything ready...

like I said before I have tried to search but everything revovles around stall converters and what not...so any 5 speed guys you input is welcome...

my cell phone doesn't take vids/soundclips worth a ****, but i love my vinci 062 cam.

it's got a noticeable chop, but it doesn't sound like its killing itself at idle either. I lost a little low-end because of the pace LT's being just a little too big, but i think i gained top-end. Once i hit about 3500-4000 the cam is def. noticeable and will hit 6300 in no time...the 4.8 loves to wrap-out at high RPM's.

When i did mine 2 months ago it was right at 100K and all i did was replace the valvesprings with yellow ls6 springs and put new waterpump gaskets on.

I'd say gaskets all around and timing chain for sure...

sound clip in sig, 221/221 .558 112 lsa. it needed a tune before it would idle. you could go as big as 224/224 and still be a dd. http://www.ls1howto.com/ has som great cam install info. with that many miles i would change everything while you are in there ( timing chain, oil pump, gaskets, valve seals). all the normal cam swap necessities ( cam, pushrods, valve springs, good tune, extra valve locks, fluids).
