Good recommendation on the 278mm, it will fit very well with your mods and driving needs...

Circle D converters are awsome for the price. Also Yank is a great brand ($475-$575) as well as Edge but a little more on the spendy side. If you call EDGE CONVERTERS they will custom make you one if you dont see the stall you like. And the custom stalls are around the same price as all of there other ones. $500-$600

A member here in la has a 212/218 lowlift with a 3k stall tune stock gears cai longtubes exhaust and tune and it drives/rides just like stock till you step on it quite a strong setup. That setup has been proven in MANY setups.

This is basically my setup but I went with the slightly bigger 216/220, I'll let you know how it works tomorrow when I take it out for the first time.

How about torque management and abuse management that the lovely GM put in?
You would want to invest in tuning software like EFI Live or HP Tuners. Or have a pro custom tune your truck via mail-order, data-log, street, or dyno.

05gmc sierra was running the lunati voodoo 212/218. With a circle d 278mm on an ecsb 4x4 . And ran very very strong . Had tons of torque even on the stock converter !
