I am just wondering what the best size can would be for my 2600 rpm stall I regret not doing a 3k circle d and I may still If I can't get a decent can. I mean Is a 2600 efficient enough for let's say a TR220 or can it support bigger?

it will work just wont have the off the line power . might be ok from a roll with the revs up then floor it. but from a dig and with traction it will be a dog . some deep gearing would help a lot your going to make your torque above 4k

for your 2600 stall i would do a 212/218 cam in your 4.8
tr220 in a 4.8 is over kill to me and would need 3-3200 stall

I run a ss4000. Love it. The 4.8 has no torque, it doesnt even peak torque till 4600 rpms or so. For max performance, you'd want a converter that is going to flash close to peak torque and has a shift extension to keep the rpms up where the 4.8 makes power at. If you tow at all, this converter won't work. If you just want performance, you'll love it. It's loose as hell on the street dd'ing, but it performs great.

Sorry for hi jacking the tread but what does too loose or tto tight mean on the stall....
I got a 4.8 and I'm really thinking of going with a cam 220/220 581. 581. 112 lsa and a circle d 3200 stall.. Just to be street driveAble etc

Loose and tight are how the converter feel driving it. The looser it is, the more rpms it takes to move it and the spongier it feels.

212/218 comp cam
214/220 eps cam

3:42-4:10s w.e you wanna run, it dont matter. 2600-3200 doesnt matter. its going to perform well imo. itll perform even better when/if you do a bigger motor.

dont be scared of a taller gear...the 3:42s vs 4:11s didnt change much of anything for me other than city driving..... just my .02
