cam damage-can this be repaired?
I have another LQ4 sitting[drove 10 hours roundtrip Monday it pick up] here ready for my cam, springs and push rods out of my hydrolocked LQ4.
Pulled my cam last night and I found this on only one lobe.It seems like debris is smashed to the surface.
Can this be polished and reused,or do I need a new cam? Also my push rods look good,is their any reason to replace them?

I would have a machine shop take a look at it, if it's only debris smashed on top and the lobe is still ok, they could probably carefully machine it off and give it a nice little polish.

Its hard to determine the depth of the damage but from the looks of that I would say you need a new cam So the push rod looks good. I assume the rollers on the lifter is equally as bad as the cam??? What you going to do with the engine???
