Default Cam decision: The final three..

Vinci High Performance "044"(210/218 .531/.531 114)
-
Comp Cams Xtreme RPM(212/218 .522/.529 114)
-
Thunder Racing "Old Man Cam"(214/220 .600/.523 115)

I've finally based my cam decision down to these three, but obviously I'm only buying one. I'm mainly looking for more 70-110ish mph pull, which one should I go with?

with the added lift the 44 will probably make about the same HP numbers as the low lift 212. I'd get a .55x 212/218 if i did mine over again to start with.

the old man cam will probably scream from a roll

why not a 216/220 114 cam

I'm trying to keep the idle as smooth as possible, it needs to be somewhat stealth so thats why I'm picking these smaller cams.

I wonder if I could safely use LS6 springs with that cam, they max at .560 I think? Thanks for the help everyone.

some say the ls6 springs max at like .570 but its gonna be close.... im gonna slap some 918's in mine with the 220/220 .556 cam i have going in

either way, all of those you have picked should idle like stock... unless you have wide open pipes and then you can hear the cam slightly

Im not a fan of VHP cams Ive seen thier cam cards and I wouldnt buy one of thier milder cams like your looking at. My first choice would be the old man hands down the best of those 3.

Something else to think of with the springs (I doubt you need to worry about this) is ramp rate, not just lift. From what I understand the ramp rateis whats hard on springs. BTW old man FTW

Of the 3 choices, I vote old man cam for top end. I have a Vinci cam (062) and its all low end power. My 062 is very close to the 044 you're looking at.
