Cam & Drive-by Wire TB
Has anyone put in a Cam into a new truck equiped with the drive by wire throttle body?
Just wondering if I would still need to drill a hole or if it will compensate for the cam by itself.
Cam is TR220 114

I am running a Cam with my FBW 2004 and have no problems at all. You might need a tune for that cam.

Ok, just wondering how long I can go without a tune. By that I mean how much of a PITA is it to keep it from stalling.
I'd like to get some miles on it before getting it tuned.
Another question, would it be better to put some miles on and let the computer learn a bit before getting tuned or not. It will be tuned on a Dyno also.

It won't matter if you get miles on it or not. When you get it tuned, it will erase all previously learned PCM data.
My cam is slightly smaller than that TR220 and even in my 6L (no TB hole), it loped along and died when I was trying to get it to idle. Without tuning, it would drive me nuts.
Blownchevy's cam has a small intake duration, a big duration split and very wide lobe seperation. That will make idle a non-issue.

grab one of the mail-order tune (core) specials before you do the swap from one of the sponsors ------------->
they can get fairly close so you won't really have the stalling/surging issues. just pop it in when you do the swap. good luck. let us know how it turns out.
