Default Cam goes in tomorrow

Well the truck will have the cam in it either tomorrow or saturday. It depends on if another truck shows up or not. I cant frickin wait. I am sure i will enjoy my install on a ls1 type motor. I can tell i like the swap better on my racecar.. Do I need to remove the grill on the install?

Good stuff. I missed the specs of the cam, what are the numbers?

Grill stays on, AC system stays charged. You will need to lift the radiator out of the way as the cam will need about 2 more inches of clearance.

i heard u can just punch a hole in the radiator and push it out, much easier than lifting it out! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

we're gonna need some sound clips heh <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Hey man let me know how it goes. I want to get a 3000 stall Yank sometime soon and then I might buy some LS6 springs when someone puts them up for cheap and then find a nice cam. I do not give a **** about towing, but I like being able to go up steep hills easily in overdrive without shifting so what cam wouldn't kill my torque but would help up top? How much does a cam cost? I see that most of the cams you guys get have .5 at least of lift. How much lift does the stock cam have? I think I read somewhere it is like .2 something. If it is then that sux. Anyway how does this 212 218 or whatever affect torque at about 2200 RPM and how much does it cost.

So what do you think it will run? You know what you ran against in your truck with it and you know mine is about 500lbs lighter.....Cash I dont think you could go wrong with that 212/218 cam . With a stall you would love it. I went a little bit bigger just to be different. I bought my cam used for 175 and new zo6 springs for $130. Jason @ Penzo Performance and I are installing it so there is no cost there except buying lunch. The stock cam is small but I dont remember the specs on it. I can wait to hear it with out the cats blocking the sound.
