Gonna be closing in on 100K miles very soon, don't wanna pull the heads, I have used Full Valvoline synthetic sense I got it at 32,000 miles in Oct 08, don't really have any plans to sell her, but after hearing some of the cams out there and how easy it is to do, LS-2 was kind of what I was wanting to do, I should just call up Texas speed and see if he would do a full package deal minus the Yank.

Thats was until I wanted to do the lifters, I was told with closing on 100K I should go and do em,it's a complete gasket and bolt kit,DIDN'T want to do it,but it's winter and snow on the ground, so the truck can be torn apart and I can take my time on this, only thing I got to get is some pullers and I'm gonna start on Saturday night.

Do I have to pull the oil pan to get at the oil pump??
Also someone said I should mill the heads down .40's???? only thing
I could see wrong with that, would the intake still bolt up ok?
Timing cover is still on and only have the back two bolts to get at on the heads, just wanted to see what else I might be missing.

i dont think the whole pan has to come down, just try pulling the bolts in the front half and see if it will give you enough room. i havent done it yet so i could be wrong but im sure someone else will chime in

This is what I got
I called TSP and got the whole package
Comp 224r with a 110LSA
LS-7 lifters
7.4 pushrods
ported ls-6 oil pump
ls-2 chain/gear set
Comp springs
I'm not milling the heads just a clean up and new seals maybe a little port job, also got a TB SS intake to go on
Might also do a 05+ radiator while it's out, already got a LS-1 fan set up.
Converter is a Circle D 3800 and a truecool 40k with vette servo.
