If it's broken and won't stay connected, then yes.
If your just talking about the light grey clips that lock the connector in place, then don't worry about it. As long as the connector seats and holds in place you will be fine.

I used a breaker bar with a 4 ft piece of black pipe piece of cake. I have a stick so i put it in 5th gear with the emergency break on. If you have an auto you will need to lock the flywheel so the motor doesn't turn while loosing the bolt.

So I got the truck back together with only a few mistakes and no extra bolts
It runs great although a bit rich, I am assuming the Tune will fix all of that and really wake up the heads and cam.
Is it a bad idea to be at wot until its tuned or is it ok every now and then? I know the current tune at wot is not set for this set up but it still pulls a tone harder.
Thank you all for your help, this was a very daunting project that I would still be doing without every ones help.

Update to my build.
I have a set of 706 heads milled, new valve job and all the glory that goes with that. stock flow though. z06 Cam, lt headers no cats. single 3 inch vette servo. and a custom tune.
With the new tune it runs like a rapped ape. But of as most of you, I like it but I want more. Still not bad for a 13 year old truck.
So I bought a TBSS intake and a 92mm throttle body. Now I want to get a bigger set of heads. I have a line on 241 heads with 30k on them for $100. I know i have to mill them to raise the comression but should I port them also if I go this route? or is that to big for my set up being a dd keep in mind i have the 01 z06 cam, stock stall and 373 gears.
I have a goal of around 350 at the wheels I am pretty sure I can get close with another head change and the tbss intake. I know I can buy cnc heads but this is and will be a build on a budget. So far I have about $1500 into it with heads, cam, headers, intake and TB. I don't want to get a stall right now so having said that.
I would love any feed back moving forward. You all have been a great inspiration to my addiction to go fast in a 6500# block of metal.
