That is a bit of an understatement for the cam you suggested. That cam won't make power till at least 3500rpms(probably closer to 4000) in a 4.8L

I bet he will go with alot bigger of a cam than a 220! Hey dusty it wouldn't be a bad idea to shave the heads to bump the compression up. They only have around 9.6-1 compression. We could check the piston to valve clearence to see how much we could safely shave off. It would be nice to get that motor to 10.5 to 11- 1! That would wake it up alot!
My GTO motor is 10.9-1 and If I bought a set of heads I would like to get close to 12-1! Vengeance racing has been tuning 12-1 motors to run on pump gas. It really bumps the Torque up!

Ok i've thought long and hard on a cam for your truck. I came up with this grind. 360/360 dur. 673/642 lift 108LSA. It should be plenty big enough but may lose alittle gas mileage!
