The Thunder Racing cams have fairly aggressive lobes, so even though the lift isn't extreme, more seat pressure is required to keep the lifters planted on the lobes and prevent valve float. I'd run PAC springs with any TR cams...

(LS6 spring closed seat pressure=90#)
(PAC 1218 closed seat pressure=130#)

Great cam, proven performer and excellent daily driver, with or without a converter. Yellow LS6 springs can be used no problem

It won't sound nasty but you should be able to hear it in a 5.3...set the idle a little low and it will sound meaner...

Biggest cam without a higher stalled converter is subjective, what may seem like a soggy bottom end to one guy may be totally fine for another. Me personally, I wouldn't run a TR220 in a 5.3 with anything less than a 3k converter, but that's just the way I like it

My cam works fine with the stock converter, but I'd actually like about a 2600 converter with it to get me into the meat of the powerband quicker. Many guys have run the 212/218 with the factory converter and been quite happy with it
