Default Cam install?

i work at a small repair shop and i was on shop key. i was reading how to take the cam out and it was a long list on thing to take out. Shouldn't i only have to take the front grill off and things in front of the cam. Who has done this by them selfs?. should this be tak'in to the local performance shop?

really this is one of the easiest engines to do a cam swap on. If you havne't done it before you might want to get someone who has first hand experience with either a fbody or truck since their the same really.

The best bet is to go over the f-body cam swap on http://www.ls1howto.com. I started to type out stuff, here, but I'm sure I'll leave something out.

This how-to is everything you'll encounter, with the exception of removing the radiator. It can be left connected, and raised out of the way.
