Well I'm not going to be picking the truck up til this afternoon, but I did talk to them to see what the dyno did and how it felt. It picked up 24 peak hp and 43 hp on the top end (I think around 6200rpm, but I'm not sure cause I haven't seen the dyno chart yet). I can post the horsepower numbers later when I see the chart. The runs were made with no tuning and no TC lockup.

The cam's working good so far. The dyno showed an increase throughout the entire RPM range, and it really pulls much harder from ~5000-6300. I bumped my rev limiter up to 6500 and Thunder raised my idle about 150rpm. I'm still working to get the shift points right on it now. I need to get a new tach since the in-dash one stops at 6000, and I want to shift at about 6200 or 6300. I also need to get a set of ASM headers to really open the cam up.
Any tips from other guys with cams?

Dutch- The pushrods are the same length (7.400" I think), but I bought the chrome-moly ones from Thunder just to be safe.

hey gremlin now that you have your truck back can you tell that the cam is there under normal driving? does it have any lope to it?

also describe your truck a little. like what year, single cab/ext. cab, engine.... so what is your total rwhp that you have now? also do you have the hypertech or did you use any computer tuning at all?

thanks.

Well I have '00 5.3L Silverado, standard cab, sportside. I have most of the ususal bolt-ons:

Flowmaster 40 series (dumped), K&N FIPK, 3.73's w/ Eaton posi, 160 thermostat,TB spacer, Transgo shift kit, Vigilante 2800 stall converter, ASP pulleys, Taylor wires, NGK plugs, Comp 212/218 cam, LS1Edit and Hypertech, etc..

Under regular stop and go driving, I can't tell a lot of difference from before other than the sound. It has a throatier, more aggressive sound with a slight lope, but nothing drastic. After the install my peak HP went from 225 to 249 and torque went from 264 to 278 (SAE corrected). These numbers were without TC lockup or headers. I used the timing tables for 87 octane performance tuning from the Hypertech, but I haven't tuned the A/F ratio or timing advance tables (don't know how to do that yet). Hope this helps.
