I was asking you what you got out of your cam and I dont that last time and was not very happy with it and yes I have alot to learn but I think that im doing pretty good for only being 18 and all new to this I did the swap myself

The 244/248 cam is a good street able cam. Had that in my last 370. In the 370 I have now is a 251/267 duration and it drives just fine, I have no issues drivin the truck everyday..

In simple terms its how long the cam is open. The duration your giving is advertised duration not duration at .050 lift.

your single plane intake swallows cams easier than their traditional EFI intakes....but i like big cams too. never been unhappy when stepping up to a larger cam/converter.

I knew you would get something like this if left to your own. If your heads were able to support 7000 rpm, you would have to upgrade every part of the valve train ($) to rev that high with some reliability. I think your heads should limit rpm, keeping you at a safer rpm. A cam designed for the rpm you will be running would give a much more usable powerband.

By the way, however much power I make would not help your decision because I have a blower. The only info that I could give you that would translate to a N/A, 408 c.i. engine, is the design peak rpm of my cam.

I guess my earlier point was that if you called Comp, or had somebody like Pat G. spec a cam for you, they would know what your mods are able to support as far as rpm and valve lift go. From the info you have given us so far, it sounds to me like you think that you are going to be able to spin a stroked LQ4, otherwise stock, to 7000 rpm. Maybe you are not telling us that you have already planned a budget for the parts required to run 7000 rpm.
