Default Cam to maintain low end

After reading "The Cam Thread" I decided to get a cam with with duration under 224, with a lil over .550 lift but i dont want too much of a lope. I was really liking the LS6 cam but I dont want a 117 LSA. Anyways I found some cams that I but couldnt find any info on. I dont want to go too big and I want to keep my low end, What do you think?

216/216 .561 .561 114
221/221 .558 .558 114

BTW, the truck is stock besides a K&N filter and Flowmaster. Although I have a set of LPP LTs on the way. I plan to keep stock heads, gears, and converter.

If you can't find a cam with the specs you like then you could find someone who does custom grinds and tell them what you want out of the cam and see what they recommend

Honestly, I'm trying to take the cheap route. I'm trying to find a cam that I'd like and hopefully pick up a used one later down the road.

I have a Lunati 221/221 .884 114 in my truck right now. I would tell you to get it but on a 112. Mine doesnt hit till about 2000 or so, in my 4.8 it was about 3k. Other than a little loss of low end the cam has been great, pulls like an SOB up top and doesnt quit

I have a vid on youtube look up 221 cam.

idle is pretty mellow in the 6.0 but u can tell its got a little somethin. loped pretty good in the 4.8. with the 6.0 cutting it at 5200 rpm due to fuel it made 325 hp. still has more without a doubt

Sounds like a good cam. 1400-6700 RPM range would be nice.

2nd that recomendation. I picked up a regrind version from eBay (with a 112 LSA instead of the 115) for a LQ9 that we are putting in a 1995 RCSB Silverado. Haven't fired it up yet but it should still have a pretty mild lope. Should be a real torque beast in that light body.

Used XR265HR-15's aren't that easy to find but the pop up from time to time. Comp Cams recomends it for a mild upgrade for LS6's so you might also watch the Corvette forums for a used one.
