I'm lurking here. I'm thinking the exact same thing. I think an LS6 cam is probably too much for me though...

I like TR220-112 in my 5.3, and I've got a yank 3600 converter (wouldn't go any lower!), and I think it's a great match.

TSP228 would put that power up there pretty high, might not be the best idea for an ECSB truck, maybe a GTO or something, but not so much the truck IMO.

The 220 is a proven cam. That and some good PAC springs and some hardened pushrods will have you a nice runner.

Or you can dare to me different like myself and stuff somethin monsterous in there like a G5x3

what do you guys think about the comp ls-r cams like the

Comp LSR Cam (219/227 .607/.614) 112 LSA
Comp LSR Cam (223/231 .610/.617) 112 LSA
Comp LSR Cam (227/235 .614/.621) 113 LSA

according to comp cams, they are made for the 4.8L and 5.3L
anyone try one of those out yet ???

Those are fairly big, a huge gap in duration, and HIGH lift. Someone posted a question about one but he never got it.
