You can but it'll have to be retuned otherwise It will still think its supposed to be running a 5.3 and it wont run Right. You'll need a retune for a can swap also

5.3 will get better gas mileage but always be down on power to a 6.0 with similar mods. I have stuck with a 5.3 because I already get bad gas mileage and can't afford to lose any more

1200 for 39 more cubes and a better starting point or the same money for a cam that will yield around 50ish hp depending on the application.

Your call

Everything can be interchanged but you dont want to build up a 5.3 just to tear it down and put the same components in to a 6L. Or I wouldnt! Build it like you want it.

MPG in a 5.3 compared to a 6.0 will be a minimal difference at the same power level in the same type of vehicle with same gear/converter/tire size. I guarantee you a stock 6.0 gets no worse/no better MPG than my H/C 5.3, and will make around the same power. MPG is based on more than just the engine. Personally, I would go 6.0 and build from there.

Ditto on the 6.0 that's a pretty good price installed and if you have future plans they build very nicely.
