Default Cam with procharger?

I'm running 8psi right now on a 5.3. If I add a good lopey cam, will I get more power like NA guys, or will power stay the same with just a lower boost #?

a cam will make a difference, but it will not make a huge difference like it would on the N/A truck. id put your money into head work, that will help more than a cam

If you dont have a them, I'd get a good set of long tube headers and free flowing exhaust.

A good lopey cam means you have increased your valve overlap. That isn't the best thing for a forced induction cam. You will lose some cylinder pressure. Get a cam with a 114+ LSA and a good sized normal split pattern.

Last year I ran a 14.8 @ 92 on a 2.45 60' at 4400 feet elevation. since then I've added cold air induction, (used to take air in just above the headers!) a larger K@N, a 160 stat, QTEC'S, a TT 3000, and removed the cats. Any guesses on what my times will be now?
Big Tex-- I have JBA shorties(didn't know any better when I got them) and cutouts. So a good blower cam won't have much lope? Where can I learn more about cams? Is a cam going to be worth the trouble on a blown motor?

Thanks, Rob

Also, what would headwork do for me? I want to go to 10psi first, then maybe a cam, headwork, or both to bring the boost back down. Only if it gives me more power too.

I will install a D-1SC on my truck, which has a comp 212/218 cam. It will be a month or two before I dyno it, I have to buy injectors and some other things. I am no cam expert but I think a Z06 cam would be perfect of an FI motor.
How hard was it to install the supercharger? Anything I should know about the install?

Supercharger was an easy install. If you can follow directions you can do it. Only thing that caught me by surprise on the install was the sound if the charger at idle when I fired it up. It sounded like my alternator was going out(gear lash inside the procharger, its normal)
