cam purchase assistance needed
ALL,
I am looking to beefing up my 5.3 engine. I am looking at one of these cam combo kits. Please help me determine which kit is the best bang for the buck. This will be in a GMC Typhoon, the heads will be stock.
I would like to know what HP gains could be achieved with these kits, and if the prices are good for the product I am getting. Thanks in advance

You didn't list duration. The first two listed are baby cams and then you throw in a bigger one.
These two would be my pick, the 212/218 low lift or high lift, if this is a street driven daily driver.
54-412-11 - XFI RPM Hydraulic Roller Camshafts
54-424-11 - XFI RPM High Lift Hydraulic Roller Camshafts

I agree, throw the last one out. I would throw the first two out too and go a little bigger. It depends on your goals and whether you plan on getting a higher stall converter. The two cams I listed are about as big as you can get and still keep the stock converter. If you get the Comp Cams low lift, then you can use cheaper LS6 springs. If you want a bit more lope at idle (lower LSA), definitely look at the SDPC HT1 truck cam (214/218 .559/.562 111).
