cam purchase assistance needed

Lift is not as pertinent to LS motors as is duration. Overcoming big lift cams is a spring change away.
Depends on what you want from the cam and how you use your truck. Either of those will need converter and are going to have a dead spot under 3000 rpm. Not knowing everything about your setup and goals, I would recommend the 224R on a 112. Feel free to give us a call or shoot us a PM for pricing and to further discuss your options.

Marine, when I talked with them yesterday... since I am in Hawaii, they really wouldnt assist with any discounts because of the shipping cost.
With the 220/220 cam I was told I didnt need a stall, but if I went anything larger I would. Also, I am looking to change the push rods, lifters and truions. I am still looking for a set of 243's or 799. Trying to make about 400 good hp

400 can be made N/A from a 5.3L. It just takes the right heads/cam combo. Instead of replying to each individual post, I am just going to recommend giving us a call and we can discuss further with each of you options and pricing. Thanks

PS. Long time no talk Stewart. How's the S10 coming along?

The 5.3 generally puts out about 35ish at the crank, with the 220r cam gains are around another 35ish. 243/799 heads should net about another 35... so realistically thats over 420ish at the crank

Let's just say trying to get 400 hp to the wheels with a 5.3 means a lot money and a lumpy cam that won't be all that streetable. Certainly not achievable with the cams being discussed so far. Don't get hung up on numbers.
