For what it will cost to make a n/a 5.3 push 400 hp u can turbo the stock 5.3 and make more power for the money

Grey Matter, it only takes set of heads and a cam and tuning. Not that difficult at all and really doesnt cost that much. Cam (400), heads (1400), tunning (350)
Thats not alot..... the stock 243 heads flow just as good an majority of all the 2500 head w/ same valve size

again we arent saying it cant be done, and iirc it has been done, but with $$$ heads, fast intake and bigger cam, all things you arent planning or mentioning on doing?

ok are you talking about the 5.3 putting out 350 at the crank in stock form?

ok your numbers are WRONG. the lm7 puts 285 and 295hp at the crank in stock form, depending on the year they came out of.

ok you are talking about making 400 with just a cam and a tune according to your first post. you have been told thats not possible. so why do you keep arguing with everyone and start asking about ls6 intakes and 243/799 heads, stating 420hp, 500hp, to look at magazines, etc? bottom line, according to your original post of keeping stock heads on a 5.3 and just upgrading the cam, you are not gonna make 400hp to the wheels. so how bout this, instead of arguing with everyone do what you want with your mods. install just a cam and get it dyno tuned. post the before tune dyno and after tune dyno so all the dumbass board members can see how wrong they are and how little they know.

Instead of everyone telling me what will not work and start saying what will.. no one has stated what they have done and their results. If the magazines are getting all this crank hp why cant I? I have read several magazines that have tested head and cam pkg, getting over 450 crank hp..... either you are here to help or not. If not please stop posting. FYI, saying the gains something wont work is not help

Ok, I see part of the problem here. Most of us are talking hp to the wheels and apparently you are talking hp at the crank. Heads, cam, headers, and intake manifold will indeed get you 400+ hp at the crank with a 5.3. But, 400 to the wheels is a whole different story. It's one thing to make high rpm peak hp and another thing to have driveability and usable mid range torque.
