For anyone reading out there, I have a question about calculating the length of the pushrods I'll need. I bought the comp cams length checker. Based on the above conversation we have a good idea of what length I will use.

However, I am installing new lifters, cam, etc. The lifters have some movement (preload) in them when the valvetrain is fully installed, if I understand correctly. IF using a pushrod length checker on a new set of lifters, how will the preload be accounted for in the length measurement? Or, put another way, how much does the lifter compress in a stock application, and should I add this amount of preload onto the measurement I take with my checker when ordering?
