Default Cam Question

I am looking at installing a cam but I really don't know what to get. I have a 2001 SCSB Z-71 with almost every bolt on you can buy; volant, gibson shorties, HPP3, gibson exhaust, throttle body spacer, ls1 fans, shift kit waiting to be installed next week. I really don't want to get real radical with the cam, because I don't have the nelson or ls1 edit, plus it is a 4x4. Thanks for the help

the 212/218 high lift will give you more torque down low, and a little more up top than the low lift version.

Neither of comp's "boxed" 212/218 cams are straight up. You can order the cam to your custom specs for roughly the same price as the common retail boxed version.

Unless you are planning on going with a power adder (supercharger or nitrous), I'd cut down the exhaust duration some. You'll have better all around power. Maybe a 212/212 or 214/214 on the high lift lobes. I'd suggest a 113 or 114 lsa with 0 advance ground in.

You won't have to have tuning, but your mods will really shine if its properly tuned.
