I don't know, because everything I've ever read said that the 4.8 has neither VVT nor AFM/DOD. That's the first I've seen of VVT on the 4.8, although the last dealer I went to didn't know the 6.2 recommended premium and that there was a 5.3 Colorado Z71. I can tell you that your engine doesn't have AFM/DOD though. That, in addition to the 4L60E vs the 6L80E, is why the 4.8 has virtually the same mpg rating as the 6.2. Also, when cruising the AFM trucks sound different because they're not firing on all eight cylinders. Listen hard on your next 45mph cruise.

look at ur air box under the hood it will tell you what you have...if you havent changed it yet....4.8 no dod or vvt ...only 5.3 6.0 6.2 which is GAY! why who care bout mpgs in a truck! if you want mpgs buy a yaris they get like 60 mpgs

4.8 L lol ... The predator has the option to turn the DOD off so I did , unless it doesn't have DOD and the predator just has the option .. I'm hoping I don't have either dod or vvt so it will be way cheaper to mod

Thunder racing recommended me to run the cheater v3 so when I supercharge it, that cam will do good with the s/c.... Do u think s/c and cam are too much for a daily and the motor and 4l60e

way to big for 4.8....if ur using the stock 60e u might wana take the money for the s/c n invest in a 80 swap,60e dont last long.....stock 80e can beat an fully built 60e..that 100%....
