Default Cam question

Would a stock cam out of a 6.0 GTO be worth putting in my 06 4.8? Also would new C6 Z06 valve springs work with it?

The LS2 cam is smaller than the LS6 cam....so no, not worth it at all even for free.

Agreed, that would be a lot of work to swap those two camshafts and see a very minimal power increase most 4.8 (truck)guys really enjoy the 212/218 camshaft, as it has a noticeable increase in power, still retains the ability to run the stock converter, and just works well in the heavier vehicles.

For a GM cam, check out the 2002+ LS6 cam. You'll also need LS6 valve springs and LS6 pushrods. But, the Comp Cams 212/218 low lift is a better option in my opinion.

Ill second batboy, if it has to be a GM camshaft, then the LS6 is a great noticeable upgrade. For even better results, ill stick to my original idea of the 212/218, or possibly even a custom grind for this application.
